Here is a letter that was written to google concerning Adsense clicks within a forum and the response letter from Google. The author of the letter was starting a forum in his home town which would have Adsense promotions that appear with each forum post. The concern is that perhaps the same IP addresses may click on advertisements regularly because of their daily involvement within the forum. The owner of this online community is concerned about the possibility of being banned by google because of recurring clicks from the same IP address.

Hi, my name is Online Forum Owner , I have an account with google. I am starting a forum in my home town
(New York) that will be called "Newyork Women's Forum" the address is ... .com There is a hyper link to a forum host that I am using from madmooseforum.com. On the forum host I will have Google Ads that will be from my Adsense account. I am sure that the majority of clicks on the Google advertisements will be from local IP addresses in the Newyork area, some of which may visit daily, which is where I am located also. I do not want to be banned by Google because the clicks will be from my hometown area. Can you secure my account from possibly being banned? Please advise, your suggestions and thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
Also I have accidentally in the past couple of days clicked my own ads 2 times while making adjustments to some of my web pages. When this happens should I contact Adsense support?
Thanks, Online Forum Owner
Hi Online Forum,
Thanks for your email. I understand your concern regarding clicks from a
shared computer or IP address. Because we have a need to protect our
proprietary detection systems, we're unable to provide any details about
this type of activity or how our monitoring technology works. However,
rest assured that we take these situations into account, and that all
AdSense accounts are properly credited for all clicks and impressions that
we consider to be valid.
As a reminder, Google strives to protect publisher interests as well as
those of our advertisers by monitoring all clicks and impressions on
Google ads for any activity that may artificially drive up an advertiser's
costs or a publisher's earnings.

Adsense Clicks Within A Forum
Letter of concern about Adsense Clicks within a forum
Google's response to Adsense clicks within a forum
These letters concerns me, let me explain. I am a member of many forum communities, some of which have Adsense implemented into the posts. Occasionally I will see an Adsense advertisement that I find to be of interest while I am in that forum, so I click on it. If I understand this response letter correctly from Google, the clicks that I am legitimately doing to view an advertisement may not be credited to the forum owner. The reason being is because the same IP address making the clicks is being monitored by Google as clicking on Advertisements while parked at a certain website address on a regular basis. I do understand that Google strives to protect the publishers interests, perhaps if I were the publisher my views would be different. But what about the website owners interests who have an investment of time and money in providing the website for the publishers advertisements to be seen?
